Consider Horse Trailers With Living Quarters

By Allyson Burke

Horse owners know that traveling with horses can be costly. Due to the cost of gas, lodging, restaurants and boarding horses it can be quite expensive. Explore your options and consider horse trailers with living quarters. With so many different floor plans and options, you should be able to find one that fits your needs. Customization options are also available.

Tour merchant locations. View, on-sight, the options available to you. Request product lists. Ensure that you ask specific questions regarding the benefits and drawbacks of each model you visit. Speak to the vendor about durability and safety issues.

Determine the type of product you are interested in. You do have options. A bumper pull trailer is easily attached to your vehicle and can be an economical way to travel. This option is great if you have only one or two horses. The goose neck also attaches to your vehicle, but adds additional support and stability. This option provides you the ability to pull five or six horses at a time.

Recognize that the number of animals you wish to transport is important. Transporting two horses in a larger goose neck would not be as cost effective as a bumper pull. Transportation of several horses would be best served by a goose neck. The most pleasing consideration is the ability to enjoy the comforts of home while traveling with your horses.

Once you have decided which type of domicile is your best fit, determine the amount of usefulness you desire. Let the merchant know if you need additional space for golf carts or other large accessories. Locate the feed and hay storage. Inquire about the convenience of tack and saddle areas. Walk through the interior family areas and determine if it has all the amenities you desire. If not, make a list of what you would need and present it to your vendor. This will guide him in helping you find the perfect model.

Thoroughly review each model for the availability of additional storage. Usually there are additional storage areas beneath the family areas and inside the horse area. Ensure that the interior of the home has plenty of storage space for items such as towels, blankets, sheets, shoes and clothing.

Venture into the interior family area to explore the available amenities. Inspect the sleeping quarters and seating areas. Estimate the number of people that will be using the area. Determine whether that amount of space will work for the number of people you will need to provide for. Analyze the kitchen and bathroom areas as well. You may also want to consider a custom built luxury product as well.

By using critical thinking, you will be able to determine which model best fits your needs. Stay in constant communication with your merchant. He will be better able to assist you, if he knows the amenities you desire. Let him know your concerns, your needs and your interests. If you prefer, you may choose to request pricing for specific customization. While it may take forethought and time, choosing horse trailers with living quarters is an excellent investment. It will provide you with satisfaction and comfort for many years.
